Forgive me if all the grammars in here read like they have fallen into pieces as my head is banging hard like a sinking heavy rock; muscle pain, nose blocked with a soar throat — I’m sick, the worst thing I can get under deadlines and busy schedules. But as much as I’m feeling terrible starting last Friday, deep down in my aching body comes a mental strength allowing me to withstand all the illness I’m having and show up to one important Friday night fashion party, giving physical support to a friend that I’m proud of – CARMEN CHAN. A jewellery designer I met around 1 or 2 years ago, who now has not only launched her second jewellery collection, but also her first (art)clutch in collaboration with artist Ryan San.
‘What does Art mean to you?”
“What is your fashion statement when carrying a piece of unique art around you?”
‘CARRY ART’ is the theme, the core concept of this collaboration. Comes in seven designs, each clutches are hand painted in acrylic, where the mixed of colours abstractly fills illusion and fantasy into a blank canvas. Somehow I see it as a universe trapped in a carriable form, allowing each of us to attach something one of a kind and unique onto our daily outfits. But that was just me, a conceptual thought that I’ve had when seeing the splashes of colours and in the same time feeling the paint-textures surfaced above.
